Hurricane season starts June 1st.

The actions you take to prepare yourself and your home from hurricanes will serve you well in dealing with the other types of emergencies. Securing the windows and doors of your home, bracing the roof and garage doors, having a disaster supply kit, using the safe-room concept, planning for your health and welfare, and providing for the security of valuables and important documents will ensure an easier recovery for you and your family.

All the information needed is available at the Volusia County Emergency Management web site.

Wildlife and Your Pets

SPRUCE CREEK runs through the north end of the Spruce Creek Fly-In.  This natural environment and the undeveloped lands and pastures that surround the Fly-In are home to several species of  animal predators. These include but are not limited to fox, bobcat, coyote and alligators. Poisonous snakes are also abundant in the area. If you care for your pet, they should not be allowed to roam freely  without supervision.

The health and life of your pet is in your hands.
